A few rules that actually help:

Hospital

Keep it small. A bedside table is about 40cm wide. Skip lilies if the room is shared — the scent fills the whole bay. Soft blush and cream, no balloons, no “get well soon” ribbon that looks like a party.

Funeral or a house in mourning

All white, or cream with green. No tropical color. No teddy bears. The card should be short: who it’s from, and one sentence. “Thinking of you. — Maya and Tom” is enough.

The note matters more than the flowers

Write the recipient’s full name. If it’s a hospital, add the ward. If it’s a funeral home, add the service name. Couriers cannot guess.
