How to Run a Profitable Fight Night at Your Gym

Most gym owners lose money on their first event. Here's why — and how to fix it.

The #1 mistake is treating a fight night like a regular class. It's not. It's a production. You need:

A real fight card — Not just whoever shows up. Match fighters by weight, experience, and draw. Your headliner should be someone people will pay to watch.

Promotion that starts 4 weeks out — Flyers at the gym aren't enough. You need social content, fighter promo videos, and a ticket link people can share. Most events that flop started promoting too late.

Revenue beyond tickets — Concessions, merch, sponsored rounds, VIP tables. A well-run event should have 3-4 revenue streams minimum.

Production quality — Ring lights, a PA system, walkout music, a ref who knows what they're doing. The difference between "gym sparring" and "fight night" is production.

We've planned dozens of these. The gyms that do it right turn fight nights into their biggest revenue month of the year.

If you're thinking about hosting one, we can help.
