Why you're still missing Pokémon TCG drops (and how to fix it)
Most collectors lose every restock because they find out 20–40 minutes late.
By then, scalper bots have already swept shelves and relisted the same product at 3x retail on eBay.
The problem isn't that you're not fast enough — it's that your information source is too slow. Facebook groups, Reddit threads, YouTube "restock alert" channels — they all have the same lag problem. Someone has to notice, screenshot, post, and hope you see it in time.
Real-time restock alerts change the math entirely. The moment a SKU goes live at Target, Walmart, Amazon, or Pokémon Center, you get pinged — before the shelf has even been stocked in-store.
A few things that actually move the needle:
1. Monitor the SKU, not the shelf
Retailers update inventory at the product/SKU level before store associates even touch it. Monitoring the database beats monitoring the floor.
2. In-store monitors beat online-only
Some of the best deals happen in-store with zero online visibility. Without an in-store monitor, you're playing a smaller game.
3. Community > solo hunting
When 500+ people are all sharing intelligence, your collective radar is 500x bigger.
