80% of Your Punching Power Comes From Your Feet — Here's Why

Most fighters think power comes from their arms. It doesn't.

Your arm muscles generate roughly 20% of your punching power. The other 80% comes from ground reaction force — energy from the floor, through foot pivots, up through hip rotation, into your fist.

A 140-pound boxer with perfect mechanics can knock out a 200-pound guy who arm-punches. Physics, not size.

The Pivot Mechanics Most Coaches Never Teach

  • Jab: Lead foot pivots inward 15-20° — engaging the lead hip

  • Cross: Rear foot pivots inward 45-60° — where knockout power lives

  • Hook: Lead foot pivots inward 30-45° with full weight transfer

Chain these pivots together and you get maximum force on every punch while maintaining perfect balance.

The Problem

Most fighters have never isolated their foot pivot mechanics. They've been told "rotate your hips" without understanding that hip rotation is a CONSEQUENCE of foot pivots.

Fix the feet. The hips follow. The power follows.

I built the Combo Footwork Mastery course to break down every pivot with done-for-you drill templates and a 16-week training program.

If you're serious about your footwork, this is the system. 🥊
