Most creators lose viewers in the first 10 seconds. Here's what I see over and over again after editing 100+ videos:
1. Slow intros — Nobody cares about your logo animation. Start with the hook.
2. No pacing changes — If every cut is the same length, people zone out. Mix 2-second cuts with 5-second breathing room.
3. Bad audio — Viewers forgive bad video. They never forgive bad audio. Invest in a decent mic before a camera upgrade.
4. No visual variety — Talking head for 10 minutes straight? Add b-roll, text overlays, zooms. Break it up every 3-4 seconds.
5. Ignoring the thumbnail — Your edit doesn't matter if nobody clicks. Design your thumbnail BEFORE you edit — it shapes the whole video.
