The 3 exercises every beginner should master first

I've been a PE teacher for years, and I see the same mistake over and over: beginners try to do too much, get overwhelmed, and quit.

Here's what I actually tell people who've never worked out before:

1. Bodyweight Squat — It builds your legs, core, and mobility all at once. If you can only do one exercise, do this one. Focus on getting your thighs parallel to the floor without your knees caving in.

2. Push-Up (modified is fine) — Start on your knees if you need to. Zero shame. You're building chest, shoulders, and triceps while training your core to stabilize. That's a lot of value for one move.

3. Dead Hang — Just grab a bar and hang. Sounds easy, it's not. This builds grip strength, decompresses your spine, and sets you up for pull-ups down the road. Aim for 15-20 seconds.

Do these 3 times a week for a month and you'll feel like a different person.

That's exactly the kind of structured, no-BS approach I teach inside Powerful Fitness — beginner courses designed by a real PE teacher. $19.99/year. No gym needed.
