Why most creators' clipping campaigns flop (and it's not the clippers' fault)
Most creators blame their clippers when a campaign underperforms. Almost every time, the real problem is upstream. Three fixes that actually move the needle:
1. Brief the moment, not the video.
Sending a 2-hour VOD with "clip the best parts" gets you generic cuts. Tell clippers exactly which timestamps, reactions, or lines are the moment — specificity is what turns a random cut into a hook that stops the scroll.
2. Pay for retention, not just views.
View-based bounties reward clickbait thumbnails and misleading hooks that tank your brand's trust. Structure payouts around watch-through rate and saves/shares, and your clipper pool will naturally optimize for content that actually holds attention.
3. Rotate your clipper pool every 4-6 weeks.
Even great clippers get formulaic once they find "a style that works." Fresh eyes on your content every month keeps your output from feeling copy-pasted and stops audience fatigue before it starts.
