Yard-scale Halloween props warp because of how you split the mesh, not the filament
Most failed tombstones and pumpkins I see are the same job: a 400 mm prop forced onto a 220 mm bed as one heroic print.
Split first. Glue later.
What I do on every yard piece:
Cut the mesh on a flat plane (base of a brick, waist of a ghost), never through a face that will catch rain.
Give each half a 1.5 mm alignment pin and a matching hole. Dry-fit before glue.
Print standing so layer lines run with the weather, not across it.
0.2 mm, 4 walls, 15% gyroid. Brim. PLA. That’s it.
Weld with CA on the pins, then a bead of outdoor adhesive in the seam. Primer hides it.
If the printer is the problem — first layer shiny on one side, dull on the other, or the nozzle grinding mid-print — stop reprinting the same STL. That’s a machine issue, not a model issue.
I keep print-ready Halloween STLs in the shop, split for hobby beds. Separate from that, I sell a single 1-hour live session when the printer itself is fighting you.
