PLA yard props fail in 3 days. Here's the actual reason.

I keep seeing Halloween prints on porches that look great Saturday and banana-peel by Tuesday.


It's not the model. It's PLA in sun.


A tombstone, a 4-ft stake, a window silhouette — they sit outside. PLA glass-transitions around 60°C. Dark colors on a driveway hit that before noon.


What I run instead:

  • PETG, 3 walls, 15% gyroid

  • Brim on anything taller than it is wide

  • Outdoor primer + spray, not craft acrylic


If you print on Bambu, stock 0.2mm is fine. On Ender, slow the first layer. Most "bed adhesion" tickets I get are wet PETG, not a crooked bed.


I sell the STLs I actually print for yards, and a separate 1-hour live repair if the machine is the problem. Files and repair are not the same product on purpose — you shouldn't pay for a tech session to download a tombstone.
