Yard props fail on the first 20 mm. Here's why.

Most Halloween yard STLs look fine in the slicer and still peel off the bed at 2 a.m.

The file isn't the problem. The first 20 mm is. Big footprints on cold glass, 60 mm/s on the first layer, and a brim that's too skinny for a 400 mm skeleton.

What actually works on Bambu / Prusa / Ender hobby machines:

  • First layer 20–30 mm/s. Slow is cheaper than a 14-hour reprint.

  • 8–10 mm brim on anything taller than 200 mm.

  • Split the model at the ankles or waist. Glue is easier than a warp.

  • PETG outdoors. PLA gets brittle after one frost.

If the print already failed, don't keep bumping bed temp. Check the first-layer photo, then the brim, then the split. That's the whole debug tree.
