Why most 'healthy' protein snacks are lying to you
I got tired of reading ingredient labels on "protein bars" and finding 15 things I couldn't pronounce.
So I started making protein balls in my kitchen. Simple stuff: dates, oats, whey, nut butter, dark chocolate. No seed oils. No maltodextrin. No "natural flavors" that aren't natural.
Here's what I learned after 200+ batches:
The 4-ingredient test: If a protein snack has more than 4 core ingredients you can't buy at a grocery store, it's processed food with a fitness label. That's it.
Protein per calorie matters more than protein per serving. A bar can say "20g protein" but if it's 400 calories of sugar and fat, you're basically eating a candy bar with a scoop of whey mixed in.
Texture > marketing. Nobody sticks with a snack they don't enjoy eating. The best protein snack is the one you actually look forward to after a workout.
That's why I built ProteinPop ā protein balls with ingredients you recognize, that actually taste like something you'd choose over a cookie. No compromise.
