3 Rules That Stopped Me From Blowing My Account as a Beginner
When I first started trading, I made every mistake in the book. Here are 3 rules that changed everything:
1. The 1% Rule
Never risk more than 1% of your account on a single trade. If you have $1,000, your max loss per trade is $10. This one rule alone will keep you in the game long enough to actually learn.
2. Stop Trading After 2 Losses in a Row
Back-to-back losses mess with your head. You start revenge trading, sizing up, ignoring your plan. After 2 red trades, close the charts and come back tomorrow. The market will be there.
3. If You Can't Explain the Trade in One Sentence, Don't Take It
"I'm buying because the price looks low" is not a plan. "Long at support with a break above the 20 EMA on increasing volume" — that's a plan. If you can't articulate why you're entering, you're gambling.
These sound simple but 90% of beginners ignore them. Don't be in that 90%.
