QUICK TIP: Trampolines are VERY regulating and can help release all that built up energy stored inside your child. If you have young children, this is a life saver. Turn this into a dual task activity to boost executive functioning skills by pairing it with a visual tracking chart! This immediately strengthens ocular muscles require for reading and writing!

Here's a sneak peek to getting you on your way to calmer nights and pleasant bedtimes!

🌙 1. Slow the Body (Wind-Down) – 20 mins

Shift from stimulation → calm.

  • Dim lights, reduce noise, no screens

  • Offer calming sensory input:

    • Warm bath or shower

    • Deep pressure (tight hugs, weighted blanket, firm towel wrap)

    • Gentle stretches or slow rocking

💡 Goal: Signal to the nervous system that it’s safe to relax.

🧸 2. Regulate the Senses (Calm Routine) – 10 mins

Keep this step consistent every night.

  • Pyjamas + brushing teeth in the same order

  • Use sensory-friendly items:

    • Soft clothing (no tags, preferred textures)

    • Lavender lotion or familiar calming scent

    • Low, warm lighting

💡 Tip: Use a visual schedule or say the same phrases each night to build predictability.

📖 3. Settle & Sleep (Connection + Stillness) – 10 mins

End with calm, connection-based cues.

  • Read the same short book or tell a simple story

  • Play soft white noise or calming music

  • Use a consistent phrase like: “Your body is calm, it’s time to rest”

  • Stay nearby briefly if needed, then gradually reduce presence over time

💡 Goal: Help them feel safe enough to let go and fall asleep.

⚡ Pro tip (what most people miss):

Consistency matters more than perfection. A predictable routine reduces sensory overload better than constantly changing “perfect” strategies.
