Here's a number that doesn't get talked about enough: brands routinely landfill or incinerate overstock and deadstock fabric rather than deal with the hassle of reselling small/irregular batches. Meanwhile, indie designers and small manufacturers are paying full retail price for virgin materials because there's no efficient way to find that surplus.

It's not a supply problem. It's a matchmaking problem.

I'm building Remnant to fix this — a marketplace where fashion brands can list their surplus/deadstock fabric (overstock runs, canceled orders, sample yardage) and sell it directly to designers and small manufacturers who need affordable material.

We're starting deliberately on the supply side first. A marketplace with buyers and no inventory is just a waitlist — so before we open the doors to designers, we're focused on getting real fabric listed from real brands. If you're a brand sitting on surplus fabric (or you know one), that's exactly who we want in the door right now.

Textile waste is one of the most fixable problems in fashion. It just needs better infrastructure.
