The 3-tier Discord structure that actually gets render clients to upgrade
Most people running a paid render farm Discord make the same mistake: one flat tier, one price, no ladder. You get members, but you leave money on the table because there's no reason for anyone to ever pay more.
Here's the 3-tier structure that's worked for mapping render pipeline communities:
Tier 1 — Access ($X/mo)
Read-only render queue status, general chat, basic automation templates. This is your volume tier — low friction, easy yes.
Tier 2 — Priority ($X/mo)
Priority queue routing, 1:1 channel access, advanced node-distribution templates. This is where you introduce scarcity — cap the number of seats so it feels earned, not just "pay more get more."
Tier 3 — Done-for-you ($X/mo)
You (or your team) actually build their automation map with them live. This tier sells itself once Tier 2 members see the time they're still losing to manual queueing.
The upsell ladder only works if each tier removes a specific, named bottleneck the member already feels. "Priority support" is vague and doesn't convert. "Your renders jump the queue during peak hours so you stop losing client deadlines" converts.
If you're running a render farm and monetizing pipeline knowledge, map your bottlenecks before you map your pricing. The tiers should follow the pain, not the other way around.
