Why most lifters plateau (and the one habit that fixes it)

Here's something I noticed after years of lifting: the people who actually make consistent progress all have one thing in common.

They track everything.

Not just "I did chest today." I mean actual sets, reps, weight, and how it compared to last week.

Most lifters walk into the gym, do roughly what they did last time, maybe add weight when it "feels right," and wonder why they're stuck at the same bench press for 6 months.

Progressive overload isn't a feeling — it's math.

If you squatted 225 for 3x5 last Monday, your goal this Monday is 3x6, or 230 for 3x5. You can't track that in your head across 15+ exercises per week.

That's exactly why I built RepLog. It's a dead-simple workout tracker that lets you:

  • Log every session in seconds

  • See your lifts trending up (or catch when they're not)

  • Compare today vs. last week vs. last month

No complicated spreadsheets. No bloated apps with features you'll never use. Just your lifts, your data, your progress.

If you're serious about getting stronger, start logging. Your future self will thank you.
