I've played with hundreds of competitive FPS players across Valorant, CS2, and Apex. The mechanical skill gap between Plat and Diamond is smaller than you think. What actually separates them comes down to 3 habits:

1. They stop re-peeking after getting a kill.

Plat players get a pick and immediately swing wide for another. Diamond players take the advantage and reposition. One pick is enough to win a round — you don't need to be a hero.

2. They play their utility before their gun.

In every game — whether it's smokes, grenades, or abilities — Diamond players use utility to create fights on their terms. Plat players use it reactively, after they're already losing.

3. They actually review their deaths.

Not VOD review for hours. Just 30 seconds after each death asking: "Could I have survived that with a different position?" That reflection loop compounds fast.

None of this requires better aim. It's decision-making. And decision-making is trainable.
