Help desk does not promote you. Lab hours do.

Most people stuck on tickets are not under-certified. They are under-labbed.

You can pass a multiple-choice exam and still freeze the first time a box will not boot, DNS is lying, or a Windows domain join fails at 2am.

That is why Root Lab is 36 weeks of actual work: Linux, Windows Server, networking, AWS, automation, DevOps. Authorized labs only. ISOs you are allowed to keep.

I am RHCSA. I built this the way I wish someone had trained me — hypervisor, snapshots, break it, fix it, write what you did.

If you are on help desk, switching in with no job yet, or already a sysadmin and thin on cloud: Week 0 is lab setup. Everything else waits until the VM is stable.
