3 ways to make any outfit look expensive (without spending more)
Most people think looking expensive means spending more. It doesn't. It means being intentional.
Here are 3 things I teach my students that instantly elevate any outfit:
1. Steam or iron everything.
This is the #1 thing that separates "cheap-looking" from "put-together." A $15 blouse that's wrinkle-free will always look better than a $200 one that's crumpled. Get a handheld steamer — they're under $20 and they change everything.
2. Match your metals.
If your belt buckle is silver, your jewelry should be silver. If your bag has gold hardware, lean gold on accessories. This tiny detail creates a cohesive look that people can't quite pinpoint but notice.
3. Stick to 3 colors max per outfit.
The fastest way to look messy is too many competing colors. Pick a base (black, white, navy, beige), add one accent color, and keep everything else neutral. Less is literally more.
