The 20-minute rule that beats a 3-hour "study session"

Most high school students don't have a work problem. They have a fake-work problem.

Rereading notes. Highlighting. Watching a video twice. Three hours later the homework is still sitting there and the test still feels impossible.

Here's the rule: if you can't produce the answer with the book closed, you didn't study. You visited the material.

Do this instead, tonight, for one class:

  1. Set a 20-minute timer. Phone in another room.

  2. Write 5 questions the test would actually ask. Not "what is photosynthesis" — "explain how X causes Y."

  3. Close the notes. Answer from memory. Wrong answers go on a list.

  4. Only reopen the notes for the list. Then close them and retry those.

That's it. One class. 20 minutes. You'll know more than you did after last week's three-hour "session."

If homework is still burying you after a week of this, the issue isn't effort. It's the system around the effort. That's what ScholarForge is built to fix.
