The thing that actually works when your teen is tempted online (hint: it's not another blocker app)
I've talked to a lot of Christian parents about screen time and temptation, and almost everyone starts in the same place: block it. Install a filter, lock down the router, restrict the app store.
Here's the problem — blockers fight the moment of temptation with friction. But friction doesn't change the heart, it just delays the click. Kids find workarounds. VPNs, friends' phones, browser tricks. The block becomes a game, not a guardrail.
What actually interrupts that moment is something blockers can't do: a voice your teen trusts, showing up right when it matters. Not a generic notification. Not a Bible verse pasted into a popup. An actual recorded message — a parent, a grandparent, a mentor — saying something true and specific, right when the temptation is strongest.
That's the whole idea behind what I've been building. It's not about locking a phone down harder. It's about giving a teenager something to reach for in the moment instead of something to fight against.
If you're a parent wrestling with this, my honest advice: whatever tool you use, make sure it's not just a wall. Make it a voice.
