3 mistakes that blow up 90% of new traders (and how to avoid them)

Most people who start trading lose money in their first 6 months. Not because the market is rigged โ€” because they skip the fundamentals.


Here are the 3 biggest mistakes I see constantly:


1. Trading without a plan


You open a chart, see a candle that "looks good," and enter. No stop loss, no target, no thesis. That's not trading โ€” that's gambling. Every single trade should have a clear entry, exit, and risk level BEFORE you click buy.


2. Risking too much per trade


If you're putting 10-20% of your account on a single trade, one bad day wipes you out. Professional traders risk 1-2% max. It's not exciting, but it's how you survive long enough to actually get good.


3. Chasing losses


You take a loss, get emotional, and immediately revenge trade to "make it back." This is the fastest way to blow an account. The best traders I know walk away after 2-3 losses in a row. The market will be there tomorrow.


The difference between profitable traders and everyone else isn't some secret indicator โ€” it's discipline and risk management.

3 things I wish I knew before my first trade

Most beginners blow their first account because nobody tells them this stuff upfront.


1. Risk management > strategy. You can have the best entry in the world, but if you're risking 20% of your account on one trade, you're gambling. I cap every trade at 1-2% of my account. Non-negotiable.


2. The chart tells you everything. You don't need 14 indicators. Price action + volume + support/resistance. That's it. Learn to read what the market is actually doing, not what some indicator says it might do.


3. Your first 100 trades should be on a simulator. Paper trading isn't sexy, but neither is losing real money while you're still learning what a stop loss is.
