Why most e-commerce product pages leave money on the table
Ran a quick audit across a batch of Shopify stores this week and the same 3 mistakes kept showing up on product pages:
1. Leading with features, not outcomes. "100% cotton, machine washable" tells me nothing about why I need it. Lead with the transformation — what does life look like after they buy?
2. No objection handling above the fold. Shipping time, return policy, sizing concerns — if a customer has to scroll or click away to find this, you've already lost some of them. Bake it into the copy itself.
3. Generic CTAs. "Add to Cart" is fine, but pairing it with a micro-reason ("Add to Cart — ships in 24hrs") consistently nudges conversion higher in split tests.
None of this requires a redesign — just a copy pass. If you're running a $10k-$500k/mo store and want a second pair of eyes on your product pages, email flows, or ad scripts, that's literally what we do at ShopScribe Copy. Happy to share more breakdowns like this if people find it useful.
