The grocery store is not your friend. Here's how I earned $4,688 in free groceries anyway.
I've been tracking grocery prices obsessively for years. Not because I'm cheap but because food inflation is devastating families.
Unfortunately government decisions, supply chain issues, energy prices, tariffs and other factors drive up costs in food production, manufacturing, transportation and ultimately those costs are passed to the consumer in the form of much higher prices.
How many families and individuals sacrifice quality and nutrition just to afford their groceries? If only there was a smarter way to shop...
Every week, prices reset across major grocery chains. And every week, the gap between the cheapest store and the most expensive store on the same items can be $10, $15, even $30 on a single cart. Most families never see that gap. They just pay it.
I built a system for tracking this. Every Thursday morning, I compare prices across every major chain — dairy, meat, produce, baby essentials, cosmetics, pantry staples — and distill it into one clear report.
Some numbers from my own shopping:
Over $4700 in free groceries earned by carefully comparing prices and taking advantage of reward points.
Top 2% of smart shoppers in terms of savings.
~20% average savings per week (an average of $600 per year) vs. shopping blind and just one trip, one list, right store — not driving to 4 different places
I originally built this just for my city in Canada. Now ShopSmart Weekly covers 70+ cities across Canada and the US.
If you've been feeling like your grocery bill keeps going up no matter what you do — you're not bad at budgeting. You're just shopping without the right information.
That changes on Thursday. 🛒
