The brief I wish every client sent
Most freelance work dies in the first message.
"Can you help with some stuff?" is not a brief. It is a trap. Both sides waste a week trying to figure out what "stuff" even is.
Here is the brief I actually want:
What is done when this is finished? One sentence.
Who is it for?
Deadline — a real date, not "ASAP".
What have you already tried?
What does a bad version look like, so I know what to avoid?
That is it. Five lines. I can quote it the same day and start.
I built Solo Desk for international clients who want a European freelancer they can actually rely on — not another person who vanishes after the kickoff call.
If you have a brief sitting in drafts, send it. If you do not, write those five lines first.
