Been tracking bets for years and the #1 thing that separates people who last from people who go broke isn't picking skill — it's unit sizing.

Most casual bettors size bets based on "how confident I feel," which means a random Tuesday parlay gets the same money as a well-researched play. That's how a bankroll dies.

Here's the simple rule I run every play through:

• 1 unit = 1-2% of total bankroll, always. Even on your "lock of the year."

• No bet is ever more than 3 units, no matter how good it looks

• If you're on a losing streak, you drop to half units until you stabilize — never chase

• Track every single bet. If you don't know your actual win rate, you don't know if you're profitable

Most people blow up not because their picks are bad, but because they size like every bet is a coin flip they can't lose. Fix the sizing before you fix the picks.
