5 website mistakes that are costing coaches and creators clients
I've built sites for dozens of online coaches, course creators, and content creators. The same mistakes come up over and over — and they're quietly killing conversions.
1. Your homepage tries to do everything
Pick one goal per page. If your homepage has a course pitch, a coaching CTA, a newsletter signup, AND a link tree — visitors don't know what to do, so they do nothing. One page, one action.
2. Nobody can explain what you do in 5 seconds
Your headline should pass the "stranger test." If someone who's never heard of you lands on your site, do they know what you offer and who it's for within 5 seconds? "Empowering your journey" tells them nothing. "I help fitness coaches get 20+ clients/month with paid ads" tells them everything.
3. No social proof above the fold
Testimonials buried at the bottom of the page might as well not exist. Put at least one result, logo bar, or client quote near the top — before the scroll.
4. Your site loads slow on mobile
Over 70% of your traffic is probably mobile. Giant uncompressed images, autoplay videos, and bloated page builders tank your load time. If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load, you're losing people before they even see your offer.
5. You have no clear next step
Every page needs a CTA. Not "learn more" — something specific. "Book a free strategy call." "Start the course." "Join the community." Make the next step obvious and easy.
The fix is simpler than you think. Most of these are quick wins that don't require a full redesign. Start with #2 and #5 — those alone can move the needle.
If your site needs more than a quick fix, we build high-converting sites for coaches and creators. Check out our page for details.
