Why most candles are lying to you

That "vanilla lavender" candle you bought from a big box store? It's probably 90% paraffin wax with synthetic fragrance oil designed to smell strong, not good.

Here's what actually matters in a candle:

Wax type — Soy and coconut wax burn cleaner and slower. Paraffin is cheap but produces soot and can release toxins.

Fragrance load — More isn't better. A well-balanced candle at 6-8% fragrance throw fills a room without giving you a headache.

Wick material — Cotton or wood wicks burn evenly. Metal-core wicks? Those were phased out for a reason.

Burn time — A $12 candle that lasts 15 hours costs more per hour than an $18 candle that lasts 45+ hours.

We started Stillwick because we wanted candles that actually match the aesthetic they're selling. Clean ingredients, honest scents, minimal design. No filler.

If you're into intentional living and you care about what you bring into your space — that's who we made this for.
