Why Consistency Beats Being Right
You can be right about the market most of the time and still lose money β if your winners are small, your losers are big, and your size jumps around based on how confident you feel. Being right is not the same as making money.
Consistency is what turns an edge into a result. Same size every trade. Same rules for entry and exit. Same response to a green week and a red one. It's repetitive on purpose, because the edge is small on any single trade and only compounds if you apply it the same way hundreds of times.
This is also why we don't bend rules for a setup that's almost there. A credit that's close but not in range, a strike that's tempting but off the delta target β those get passed. Bending the rule once makes the next exception easier, and pretty soon there are no rules, just feelings.
Boring and consistent wins. Exciting and inconsistent doesn't.
