Most players lose their tournament games before the first fight even happens. Here are the 3 rotation mistakes I see comp players make constantly:

1. Rotating too late out of your drop spot

If you're still looting when zone 2 is closing, you're already behind. You should be pathing toward your next position the moment you have enough loot to fight. That extra chest isn't worth the storm damage and bad positioning.

2. Taking the obvious rotate path

Everyone rotates the same way — along roads, through POIs, the shortest distance to zone. That's where you get w-keyed. Find the off-angle paths. Use terrain for cover. If everyone goes left, go right and take height on the other side.

3. Not having a plan for surge

If you're below storm surge threshold with 30 players left and no damage dealt, you panicked too late. You need to be tracking your damage from zone 3 onwards and taking smart chip shots. A few AR tags from height can be the difference between qualifying and going home.
