Spent the last few months testing every popular phone grip/mount on the market before building our own. Here's what kept breaking:

1. MagSafe grips that lose hold after 2 weeks. The magnet degrades with heat — and your phone gets hot mid-session. Most brands don't test for thermal cycling at all.

2. Kickstands with a single hinge point. Fine for watching videos, useless the second you're gripping the phone and mashing buttons. The stand flexes and your POV shifts mid-match.

3. Controller clips that clamp the phone, not the case. Any grip/case combo you already own becomes incompatible, so people just stop using the clip.
