You can't just slap 20 IP cameras on an existing network switch and hope for the best. Bandwidth, VLAN segmentation, and PoE budgets all need to be mapped before a single camera goes up.

5. No maintenance plan

Cameras collect dust, spiders build webs over lenses, firmware goes unpatched. If you're not cleaning and updating quarterly, your system is degrading in real time.
