Why most Gorilla Tag montages look bad (and how to fix it)
I've watched hundreds of GT clips and most of them make the same 3 mistakes:
1. No rhythm to the cuts. GT gameplay is naturally chaotic, but your edits shouldn't be. Cut to the beat — even if it's subtle. Viewers feel it even if they can't explain it.
2. Too much raw footage, not enough selection. The best GT clips are 30-60 seconds of only the illest moments. If you're posting 5-minute montages, you're padding. Be ruthless with your cuts.
3. Bad color grading. The default VR footage looks washed out. A simple contrast boost + slight saturation bump in DaVinci or Premiere makes a massive difference. Takes 2 minutes.
I started Tag Studios to help GT creators actually level up their video game. Free to join — just real editing tips from someone in it.
