Students: stop applying to every 'get paid to test' site
Most "paid tester" lists are junk. Here's the filter I use before I send anyone a gig.
If they ask you to pay the platform to unlock tests — skip it.
If they only pay in gift cards with a $50 minimum — skip it.
If they want a 40-minute survey for $0.50 — skip it.
What actually pays: usability tests (15–30 min, $10–$60), product-sample tests where you keep the item, and brand feedback sessions booked like a calendar invite.
The bottleneck isn't finding websites. It's having a profile that doesn't get rejected, knowing which tests are open today, and not wasting a week on dead platforms.
That's what we run inside TestGig — live gigs, a testers chat, and the how-to so students don't burn their first three applications.
If you're on a campus Discord hunting side cash, this is the lane.
