Most people start sports betting the same way — they bet on their favorite team, chase losses, and wonder why their bankroll is gone in a week.

Here are 3 mistakes I see over and over:

1. Betting with emotion instead of data.

Your team being "due for a win" isn't a strategy. Look at matchup stats, injury reports, and line movement. The numbers don't lie.

2. No bankroll management.

If you're putting 25% of your bankroll on a single bet, you're gambling — not investing. I never risk more than 1-3% on any single play.

3. Ignoring line shopping.

The difference between -110 and -105 doesn't seem like much until you realize it compounds over hundreds of bets. Always check multiple books.
