5 Home Upgrades That Cost Under $50 (But Feel Like $500)
Most people think upgrading your home means renovation budgets and weekend-long projects. It doesn't.
Here are 5 things I've done that completely changed how my space feels — all under $50:
1. Swap out your light bulbs. Go warm white (2700K) in living areas, daylight (5000K) in your workspace. Costs about $15 for a pack. The difference in mood is immediate.
2. Add a doormat and shoe tray at your entrance. Sounds basic. But creating a "transition zone" between outside and inside makes your whole place feel more intentional. $20.
3. Get a real soap dispenser for your kitchen sink. Ditch the plastic bottle. A simple stainless steel or ceramic dispenser makes your kitchen look 2x more put-together. $12.
4. Hang one piece of art at eye level. Not a gallery wall — just one piece you actually like, properly hung. Most people either hang things too high or don't hang anything at all. $30 at a thrift store, framed.
5. Deep clean your grout. Grab a grout pen or some hydrogen peroxide and an old toothbrush. 30 minutes of work and your bathroom tiles look brand new. $8.
None of these require tools, skills, or a weekend. Just a bit of intention.
I share tips like this every week inside The Daily Upgrade — wellness, DIY, lifestyle, and practical skills that add up fast.
