The 3 things I wish someone told me before my first business

I've helped dozens of first-time founders go from "I have an idea" to "I just got my first paying customer." Here are the 3 biggest patterns I see:

1. You don't need a perfect product. You need a paying customer.

Most people spend 6 months building something nobody asked for. Instead: describe your offer in one sentence, find 10 people who'd pay for it, and charge them before you build it. If you can't sell the idea, the product won't save you.

2. Revenue solves almost everything.

Funding, motivation, confidence — they all follow revenue. Stop worrying about logos and LLCs. Get someone to give you money for solving their problem. Everything else is a distraction at this stage.

3. The biggest risk is staying comfortable.

Your 9-5 feels safe. Your savings feel finite. But the real risk is spending your 20s optimizing someone else's dream. The worst case of starting a business? You learn more in 6 months than most people learn in 5 years at a job.

If this hits home, The Founder's Bootcamp is where I take people from zero to revenue — with real frameworks, weekly accountability, and a community of builders.
