The sleep trick that saved my sanity at 3am
When my baby was 3 weeks old, I hadn't slept more than 90 minutes in a row for days.
I'd read every blog. Tried every "hack." Nothing worked β because most sleep advice assumes you have energy to follow a 47-step routine at 3am. You don't.
So I stripped it down to the absolute basics. One change at a time. No rigid schedule. No crying it out. Just small, gentle shifts that actually stuck.
Here's what I learned:
The problem isn't that your baby won't sleep. It's that most advice doesn't account for your exhaustion. The best system is one you can follow when you're running on empty.
3 things that made the biggest difference:
Environment first, routine second. Temperature, darkness, and white noise did 80% of the work before I even touched a schedule.
Stop watching the clock. Tracking every wake window made my anxiety worse. I switched to reading my baby's cues instead.
One change per day, max. Trying to overhaul everything at once is why most "sleep training" fails in week one.
Within 7 days, my baby went from only sleeping in my arms to doing 3-4 hour stretches in the bassinet.
I built this into a full system β along with 4 other survival guides for the hardest parts of early motherhood (partner disconnect, postpartum body image, feeding while exhausted, and calming a colicky baby).
If you're in the thick of it right now, I made these for you.
