Why I stopped serializing my novel chapter-by-chapter

For a while I was releasing The Glass Orchard the way a lot of serial fiction gets released — chapter by chapter, week by week, making readers wait between installments.

I stopped doing that.

A novel is one continuous thing. Pacing, foreshadowing, the way a sentence on page 12 pays off on page 240 — all of that gets flattened when you chop a book into weekly drops and force readers to wait. Cliffhangers start to feel like a gimmick instead of a natural beat in the story.

So instead, subscribers now get the entire novel at once — the full text, delivered whole, the moment they join. No waiting for the next chapter. No forgetting what happened three installments ago. Just the book, read at your own pace, the way it was written to be read.

If that sounds like your kind of reading experience, subscriptions are open now.
