The 3 money rules nobody teaches you in school
I spent years figuring these out the hard way. Here's what I wish someone told me at 22:
1. Pay yourself first — not last.
Most people pay bills, buy stuff, then save "what's left." Flip it. Automate 10-20% of your income into savings/investments before you touch the rest. You adapt to less faster than you think.
2. Your savings account is losing you money.
Inflation eats cash sitting in a 0.5% savings account. At minimum, park your emergency fund in a high-yield savings. Beyond that, learn to put your money to work — index funds, bonds, whatever matches your risk tolerance.
3. Debt is a tool, not a death sentence.
Not all debt is bad. A mortgage at 4% while your investments return 8%? That's leverage. Credit card debt at 24%? That's an emergency. Know the difference.
I wrote a full guide breaking down exactly how to implement these (and more) — step by step, no jargon. It's in The Guide Shop if you want to level up your finances for real.
