The 3 conversations every couple avoids (and why they matter most)

Most couples think the big fights are what break relationships.

They're wrong. It's the conversations you never have.

After working with dozens of couples, I've noticed the same 3 topics get avoided over and over:

1. "What does support actually look like for you?"

Most people assume their partner wants the same kind of support they do. They don't. One person wants solutions, the other wants to be heard. Until you ask, you're guessing — and guessing builds resentment.

2. "Are we growing in the same direction?"

People change. That's not a threat to your relationship — unless you pretend it's not happening. Check in every few months. Where are you headed? Does your partner know?

3. "What am I not saying that I need to say?"

The things you swallow don't disappear. They show up as distance, irritability, or that vague feeling of being disconnected. Create space for the uncomfortable truth. It's always less scary than the silence.

If any of these hit close to home, The Love Lab is where couples go to have these conversations with guidance and a community that gets it.
