5 Grooming Mistakes 90% of Men Make (And How to Fix Them)

After years behind the chair, I've seen the same mistakes thousands of times. Here's what most men get wrong — and the simple fixes.

1. Washing your hair every day

Daily shampoo strips your natural oils. Your scalp overcompensates by producing more oil, making your hair greasier. Wash 2-3 times a week. Condition every time.

2. Cutting the neckline too high

This is the #1 beard killer. Your neckline should sit about two fingers above your Adam's apple — not at your jawline. Too high and your beard looks thin from every angle except straight-on.

3. Using the wrong product for your hair type

Pomade on fine hair? It'll look greasy by noon. Gel on curly hair? Crunchy disaster. Match the product to the hair. Clay for texture, paste for short hair, cream for curls.

4. Skipping moisturiser

Your skin is the canvas everything sits on. Dry, flaky skin makes even a great haircut look rough. Two minutes, twice a day. Cleanser + moisturiser. That's it.

5. Going to the barber with no reference

"Just a trim" is the most dangerous phrase in barbering. Bring a photo. Show your barber what you want. We're not mind readers — but we are very good at recreating what we can see.

I teach all of this (and a lot more) inside The Men's Room Grooming Masterclass. Professional techniques, broken down so you can do them at home.

Look sharp. Feel sharp. Be sharp.
