The breakdown:

We read this game perfectly. Atlanta's offense is the #1 in MLB averaging 5.6 runs per game — and tonight they delivered again against Garrett's awful 33.75 ERA. Miami's bats also showed up after their 12-run explosion last game. Both teams scored, runs flew, and every single pick cashed.

⚾ Pick 3 Tonight — ATL vs MIA Both Teams to Score | Odds 1.55

This is the safety pick tonight. MIA just scored 12 runs last game — their offense is absolutely alive right now with Lopez, Hicks and Marsee all hitting well. ATL's Martin Perez has a solid 2.25 ERA but he's not unhittable, and MIA at home in 86°F Miami heat will get on the board. ATL meanwhile face Garrett's 33.75 ERA — they will score. Both teams scoring tonight is as close to a certainty as you'll find in MLB. Lowest odds of our three picks tonight but highest confidence.

⚾ Pick 2 Tonight — ATL vs MIA Over 7.5 Total Runs | Odds 1.76

Both lineups are dangerous tonight. ATL is the #1 offense in MLB averaging 5.6 runs per game. MIA just scored 12 runs last game and their offense is genuinely hot right now. Miami's starter Braxton Garrett has a 33.75 ERA — he will give up runs early before getting pulled. Both bullpens then take over but the damage will already be done. 7.5 total runs is a very reachable number tonight.

⚾ TONIGHT'S BET — ATL vs MIA šŸ”„

šŸŽÆ Pick: Atlanta Braves Over 4.5 Runs šŸ’° Odds: 1.90 šŸ’µ Stake: 100€

Why this bet? šŸ‘‡

Miami's starter tonight is Braxton Garrett with a 33.75 ERA — one of the worst active ERAs in ALL of MLB right now.

Atlanta are #1 in MLB averaging 5.6 runs per game this season. They score over 4.5 runs in the majority of their games even against GOOD pitchers.

Tonight they're facing one of the worst. šŸŽÆ

The math is simple: āœ… ATL best offense in MLB āœ… MIA worst starter ERA (33.75) āœ… 86°F warm weather in Miami — ball carries further āœ… Odds 1.90 — bookie underpricing this at 52%, real chance closer to 70%

MLB betting 101 — how to read odds and place your first bet

If you've never placed a sports bet before, this is your starting point. No fluff, just the basics.

What are odds?

Odds tell you two things:

  1. How likely something is to happen

  2. How much you'll win if it does

In the US, you'll mostly see American odds (e.g. -150, +130).

  • Negative odds (-150): You need to bet $150 to win $100. This is the favorite.

  • Positive odds (+130): You bet $100 to win $130. This is the underdog.

Your first MLB bet — moneyline

The moneyline is the simplest bet: pick the team that wins. That's it.

Example:

  • Yankees -140 vs. Red Sox +120

  • Yankees are favored. Bet $140 to profit $100.

  • Red Sox are underdogs. Bet $100 to profit $120.

3 rules for beginners

  1. Never bet more than 2% of your bankroll on a single game

  2. Stick to moneylines and totals until you're comfortable

  3. Track every bet — you can't improve what you don't measure

The 3 mistakes every beginner bettor makes (and how to stop)

You don't need to be a math genius or a stats nerd. But you DO need to stop making these three mistakes if you want to actually make money betting on sports.

Mistake #1 — Betting with your heart, not your head

Your favorite team is NOT always the right bet. The number one rule of profitable betting: separate emotion from analysis. If you can't bet against your team when the numbers say so, you'll always lose long-term.

Mistake #2 — Chasing losses

You lose a bet, so you double down on the next one to "make it back." This is how bankrolls die. Set a daily loss limit and walk away when you hit it. Discipline is the edge.

Mistake #3 — Ignoring bankroll management

If you're throwing random amounts on random games, you're gambling. If you're risking 1-3% of your bankroll per play with a system, you're investing. Big difference.
