Payday is not a personality test
Most money advice starts with your identity. Are you a saver? A spender? A visual person? Do you like envelopes or apps?
That is a stall.
Payday is a date on the calendar. Money arrives. Then it leaves, usually faster than you meant it to, because nothing had a job except "don't run out."
A quieter version: sit once, for under an hour, and give this payday four jobs.
1. Bills that are actually due before the next payday. Not every bill you have ever had. The ones that will bounce you if you ignore them.
2. A small buffer. Even $20. The point is a named pile that is not spending, so the next surprise does not raid the rent.
3. True spend. Groceries, transit, the life you are already living. Name it so it stops leaking from the buffer.
4. A little future. If there is anything left. If there is not, that is information, not a moral failure. The sitting still happened.
You do not need a new personality. You need a sitting on the day the money shows up.
That is the whole Payday Peace Plan.
