Indoor cats don't need more toys. They need a rotation.
Most cat parents buy a $12 wand, watch it get ignored in three days, then assume their cat is "picky."
The cat isn't picky. The toy is stale.
Cats hunt in short bursts. Same object sitting on the floor for a week stops looking like prey. That's why a $4 mouse in a drawer beats a $30 tree they walk past.
What actually works:
Keep 4–6 toys. Leave 2 out. Hide the rest.
Swap every 7–10 days. The "new" toy is just one they forgot.
Rotate textures: crinkle, feather, silvervine, something they can kill (kickaroos, spring mice).
Food puzzles for the 4pm zoomies. A lick mat is cheaper than a ruined couch.
That's the whole idea behind a monthly box. Not more stuff. A fresh hunt, on a schedule.
If your cat is currently ignoring a pile of toys, try putting 80% of them in a closet tonight.
