3 cocktails that'll make you look like a pro (even if you've never touched a shaker)
Most people think making good cocktails requires a home bar full of obscure liqueurs and years of practice. That's not true.
Here are 3 drinks you can make tonight with stuff you probably already have — and they'll genuinely impress anyone:
1. The Whiskey Sour (done right)
Bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup. That's it. The secret? Dry shake with egg white first (30 seconds, no ice), THEN shake with ice. That foam on top is what separates you from everyone else.
2. The Aperol Spritz
Aperol, prosecco, splash of soda. Build it in a wine glass over ice. The ratio is 3-2-1 (prosecco, Aperol, soda). Dead simple, looks stunning, tastes like summer.
3. The Dark & Stormy
Dark rum, ginger beer, lime. Pour ginger beer over ice, float the rum on top, squeeze lime. The layered look is the whole point — don't stir it.
These three alone will carry you through every dinner party, date night, and house gathering for the rest of the year.
