Why gifting middlemen are the real problem (and how sourcing direct changes the math)
Been building a shop around home decor, handicrafts, and whole spices, and one thing became obvious fast: most 'artisan' gift stores mark items up 3-5x before they even list them. The artisan gets a few dollars, a chain of resellers takes the rest, and the customer pays retail-boutique prices for something that isn't actually that expensive to make.
We cut that chain. Source directly from suppliers/artisans, skip the reseller layers, and pass the savings straight to the customer. Same handmade quality, real price.
If you're a gift shopper who's tired of paying $60 for a $15 ceramic bowl because it passed through four hands first — that's the gap we're closing. Just launched our first curated box (home decor + handicrafts + whole spices) for exactly this reason. Happy to answer questions on how direct sourcing actually works if anyone's curious.
