The common thread?

Every struggling career, stalled business, and failing project has the same root cause: disengagement. When people check out, everything breaks.

I help you fix that.

The #1 reason your projects fail (and it's not what you think)

Most people blame scope creep, tight deadlines, or bad stakeholders when a project goes sideways.

After 20+ years rescuing failing projects and coaching teams, I can tell you — the real problem is almost always engagement.

Not effort. Not hours logged. Engagement.

Here's the difference:

  • Effort = showing up and doing the work

  • Engagement = actually caring about the outcome, bringing creative energy, holding yourself and others accountable

When engagement drops, everything else follows. Deadlines slip because nobody owns them. Communication breaks down because nobody feels invested. Quality tanks because people are going through the motions.

Three signs your team (or you) has an engagement problem:

  1. Meetings end with "any questions?" and silence

  2. Problems get escalated instead of solved

  3. People are "busy" but nothing meaningful ships

The fix isn't another standup or a new PM tool. It's re-connecting people to why the work matters — and giving them real ownership over how it gets done.

That's what I do at The Work Joy Project. Whether it's 1-on-1 career coaching, PM workshops, or stepping in to rescue a project that's off the rails — it all comes back to reigniting engagement.

If any of this hits home, let's talk.
