5 Pokémon Cards That Quietly 10x'd in the Last Year

Everyone talks about the same big-ticket Charizards. But some of the best gains in Pokémon cards last year came from pulls nobody was watching.

Here are 5 cards that went from binder filler to serious money:

1. Miraidon ex SAR (SV1) — Went from $15 to $140+ as competitive play drove demand. The art is absurd and supply dried up fast.

2. Umbreon VMAX Alt Art (Evolving Skies) — This one was already loved, but it broke $300 when sealed Evolving Skies became impossible to find at retail.

3. Iono SAR (Paldea Evolved) — Trainer supporters with fan-favorite characters always age well. This went from $30 to $180.

4. Moonbreon (Pokémon 151) — The entire 151 set has held strong, but this Umbreon art is the standout. $25 → $120.

5. Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat (Van Gogh Promo) — Promo cards with limited distribution are cheat codes. $30 → $250+ and still climbing.

The pattern? Limited print runs + iconic Pokémon + strong art = long-term value.

I run thecardkidz — a buy/sell/trade community for collectors who actually want to make smart moves. We do live price checks, deal alerts, and the buy/sell channels stay active daily.
