Why your voice sounds higher than it should (and how to fix it)

Most guys are speaking from their throat instead of their chest. That's why your voice sounds thin, nasally, and way higher than your natural register.

Here's what's actually happening:

Your larynx sits too high. Stress, bad posture, and shallow breathing push it up. This physically shortens your vocal tract and raises your pitch.

You're breathing wrong. Chest breathing = tension in your neck and throat. Diaphragmatic breathing = relaxed vocal cords = deeper resonance.

Your posture is killing your voice. Forward head posture compresses your throat. Fix your posture and your voice drops almost immediately.

Three things you can do right now:

  1. Hum from your chest — place your hand on your sternum and hum until you feel vibration there, not in your nose

  2. Yawn and speak — that open-throat feeling after a yawn is where your voice should live

  3. Breathe from your belly for 5 minutes before any conversation

I put everything I know about this into a full guide with daily routines, exercises, and the science behind why they work. If you're serious about this, check it out.
